Miss World 2006 : Tatana Kucharova
Tatana was born in the small town of Trnava in Slovakia. She was brought up in the town of Opocno, Czech Republic. Tatana is the first woman from the Czech Republic to be crowned Miss World. This feat fetched her much acclaim in her country. Kucharova beat 103 contestants at the 2006 contest that was held in Warsaw, Russia.
With the full support of the Miss World Organisation, Tat’ana plans to continue her studies and attend university, where she hopes to prepare for a career in history.
She has worked successfully as a catwalk and photographic model across Europe and in Japan. Tatana hopes that modeling with allow her a greater chance to travel and experience other cultures.
Tatana is also a keen sportswoman. Her favourite pastimes include tennis, volleyball, horse riding and ice skating. She also enjoys dance and listening to music.
She was welcomed with cheers and applause as she arrived at an official welcoming reception held by the President of Prague.
